Ambiguous contracts
This research examines the extent of the arbitrator's authority in interpreting the law applicable to the arbitration dispute, as one of the central issues in contemporary legal thought, particularly in the field of international commercial arbitration. Arbitration has become a parallel mechanism to national courts, not only for dispute resolution but also for constructing a distinct legal system within which the arbitrator operates as a different kind of judge, exercising authority derived from the parties' agreement rather than state sovereignty.
